27th Schüßler Prize awarded at RWTH Aachen University


2022 Study Support Award goes to Maja Sophie Happel, Vianne Zoe Pöss and Leif Steinhagen.

On Friday, September 23, 2022, the Schüßler Prize was awarded for the 27th time in Aachen. This year, the jury honored three students from RWTH Aachen University. The prize, endowed with 5,000 euros each to support a semester abroad, went to Maja Sophie Happel, Vianne Zoe Pöss and Leif Steinhagen. The winners received the award for their excellent academic achievements and their civil commitment.

Maja Happel and Leif Steinhagen are studying civil engineering, specializing in structural engineering, and will spend their semester abroad in Trondheim and Barcelona respectively. Vianne Zoe Pöss, who is studying Business Administration and Engineering: Civil Engineering, plans to spend her semester abroad in Turin.

The award was presented by Christina Zimmermann, managing partner of Schüßler-Plan GmbH, Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Stefanie Reese, Dean of the RWTH Faculty of Civil Engineering, and Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Josef Hegger, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Sascha Steuer, Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Consulting Engineers VBI, spoke in the ceremonial address and emphasized, among other things, the importance of teamwork in construction projects.

The Schüßler Prize has been awarded in cooperation with RWTH Aachen University since 1995 and promotes the personal development of young prospective civil and industrial engineers.
