RWTH Aachen University annually awards the Brigitte Gilles Award, which bears the name of the university's first women's representative, Professor Brigitte Gilles. The topics are redefined with each call for entries in the middle of the year.

This year, the award will be announced in the following categories:

  • Projects, initiatives and individuals that help to awaken and promote the interest of female students in the disciplines of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (MINT).
  • Measures, initiatives and individuals that improve the living, studying and working conditions of women at the university and encourage them on their career path.
  • Outstanding final theses from all faculties whose questions have a clearly identifiable connection to the topic of gender equality.

The award winners will be presented with their awards at a ceremony during the "RWTHtransparent" event. The award is endowed with 2,500 euros in each of the first two categories. Final theses are awarded 500 euros.

A written nomination or application is possible by until November 30, 2022. For further information, such as the background to the award ceremony or templates for applications, please visit the Brigitte Gilles Award website.
