OERContent.nrw - 2 concepts of the faculty supportedCopyright: LFI
The member universities of the DH-NRW have decided, in close cooperation with the federal state of NRW, to set up a new state-wide online portal for study and teaching (state portal DH-NRW) in order to make the use of existing and future offers of digital teaching/learning content and tools more attractive and thus to increase the integration of digital teaching forms in face-to-face teaching.
OERContent.nrw is the largest nationwide funding line for open educational resources. The maximum funding period is two years. Due to the corona crisis, the funding amount was doubled to 10.5 million euros; 18 concepts are being funded, in which at least three universities cooperate on e-learning formats.
Two concepts worth approx. 1 million euros will go to the Faculty of Civil Engineering at RWTH Aachen University as consortium leader:
- "HydroOER -HydrolOgiE Repository", Prof. Heribert Nacken
German and English language Moodle and Iliad modules and OER collections on the fundamentals of hydrology and flood risk management
In cooperation with the University of Bonn and the FH Aachen
- "Digital learning environment - structural analysis - as a holistic concept", Prof. Sven Klinkel
The aim of the project is to create a digital learning environment for students of civil engineering in the basic subject "structural statics", which is firmly anchored in the curricula of technical colleges and universities
In cooperation with the University of Duisburg Essen, the TU Dortmund University, the TH Cologne and the FH Aachen
The concepts can be implemented with immediate effect so that the teaching and learning content can be uploaded promptly to the new online state portal ORCA.nrw (Open Ressources Campus NRW) and thus be available to all students and teachers in North Rhine-Westphalia. During the corona crisis, the universities in North Rhine-Westphalia were able to set up an online summer semester with a comprehensive digital course offering in a very short time.
