Possibilities for Exchange Students

It may not be possible for exchange students to take all courses from all faculties. Further information can be obtained from our partner universities and from our experience reports.

Please note that in general the majority of the courses taken must be chosen at the cooperating faculty. NTNU operates three campuses in Trondheim, Gjøvik and Ålesund. Please note that you can only take courses at one of these campuses. All students must meet the recommended/required prerequisites for the courses.

Language Courses The university offers intensive Norwegian language courses as well as semester accompanying Norwegian language courses.



Language Requirements

English B2

The language requirements depend on the language that the chosen courses are held in. Students who only choose courses taught in English do not need to prove Norwegian language proficiency.

The NTNU accepts the following Norwegian language certificates:

  1. Bergen Norwegian Language Test
  2. "Norwegian for Foreigners course level 3 exam" at NTNU
