Istanbul University Cerrahpasa
In 2018, Istanbul University, at the time the oldest and largest university in Turkey with more than 170,000 students, was split. Some faculties and units of the university were separated and combined under the newly established Istanbul University - Cerrahpasa. Today, Istanbul-Cerrahpaşa University has 32,912 students. The university continues its activities in 8 locations: Avcılar, Bahçeköy, Bakırköy, Büyükçekmece, Cerrahpaşa, Haseki, Sultangazi and Şişli. Today, İstanbul-Cerrahpaşa University has 12 faculties, 6 institutes, 1 college, 5 vocational schools and 17 application and research centers.
Istanbul is the most populous city in Turkey with approximately 14.37 million inhabitants and is located in the strait between the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea. The Faculty of Engineering is located on the Avcılar and Büyükçekmece campuses.

Erasmus Students could attend the Turkish courses offered by Dil Kulübü (Language Club) of Hasan Ali Yücel Faculty of Education.
Language requirements are based on the language of instruction of the selected courses. Students who choose only English-language courses are not required to demonstrate proficiency in Turkish.

The dormitories (Our Dormitories) do not have special quotas for Erasmus students.
