Timber Construction Award

 

Burkhard Walter and the Faculty of Civil Engineering of RWTH Aachen University praise the timber construction prize 2023, which is awarded to outstanding final works in the field of the of constructive timber construction.

The prize is endowed with a total of € 3,500.

 

Application

Admissible are theses (doctoral, master, bachelor), which were written at RWTH Aachen University and whose completion dates back to 2021 or 2022.

Please submit the following documents for the application:

  • Cover letter with justification
  • Abstract of the thesis
  • Thesis as PDF file
  • Curriculum vitae of the candidate with photograph

About the founder of the award

Dipl.-Ing. Burkhard Walter is the founder and managing owner of WALTER - REIF Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH with offices in Aachen and Duisburg. Burkhard Walter completed his studies in Civil Engineering at the RWTH Aachen in 1982 and founded the engineering office in 1984. He is a publicly appointed and sworn expert for timber construction, member of numerous expert committees and multiple winner of the timber construction award of the states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. His engineering office is one of the most renowned addresses for timber construction and has a number of demanding and successfully completed projects to its credit.
