The basis of the innovation potential at the faculty is based on the extensive research activities of the chairs or teaching and research areas. They cover the entire spectrum from basic DFG research and ER research projects to application-oriented industrial research. Through close cooperation with the industry, the research results are put to immediate use.

For the curriculum, the high number of research projects means a direct link to innovative and practice-oriented civil engineering projects as well as to cutting-edge scientific research. From the very first semester, application and basic research-related teaching content and methods are components of the versatile courses offered by the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The excellent supervision ratio, the cooperation with international partner universities and the industry partners ensure a professional overview of the entire field of civil engineering.
