Dr. Butenweg - RWTH Lecturer 2015
One of a total of eight honorary titles of RWTH Lecturer was awarded this year to a member of the Faculty of Civil Engineering: Dr.-Ing. Christoph Butenweg, Chair of Structural Analysis and Structural Dynamics. The official presentation of the certificates took place on June 24, 2015 by the Vice Rector for Human Resources and Young Scientists, Professor Doris Klee, at the university event "Talk Lehre".
The award, which comes with a cash prize of €15,000, is given to doctoral researchers who exemplify excellent teaching at RWTH and who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to their teaching.
Applications can be submitted by all PhD academic employees or civil servants of RWTH, with at least five years of teaching experience.
The RWTH Lecturer was introduced in the measure Place to Be, of the Future Concept II of the Excellence Initiative. The aim of this program is to honor and internally promote the academic mid-level faculty who have distinguished themselves through outstanding excellent teaching and research activities. The honorary title is awarded for an unlimited period of time, for the duration of employment or active civil service at RWTH.
