RWTH professors admitted to North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences and Arts

The North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences and Arts has now admitted 18 new members, including three RWTH members: Jochen Kreusel, Jun Okuda and Stefanie Reese now advise the state government on issues such as research funding.

Prof. Dr. Jun Okuda, born in 1957 in Osaka/Japan, studied chemistry at RWTH. After obtaining his doctorate and post-doctoral qualification at the Technical University of Munich, he first took up a professorship at Philips University in Marburg, followed by a professorship at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. Since 2003, Okuda has been Professor of Organometallic Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University.

Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefanie Reese has been Professor of Applied Mechanics at RWTH Aachen University since 2009. Reese, born in Hameln in 1965, studied civil engineering at Leibniz University in Hanover and earned her doctorate at Darmstadt Technical University. She then worked as a research assistant and senior engineer at Leibniz University in Hanover. A call to the Ruhr University in Bochum was followed by a professorship at the Carolo-Wilhelmina Technical University in Braunschweig.

Professor Dr. Jochen Kreusel studied at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences. He has been a lecturer in "Energy Economics in Liberalized Electricity Markets" since 2000 and an honorary professor at RWTH Aachen University since 2008.
