Gold Paper & Best Newcomer Award 2008

 

At the 7th fib (International Federation for Structural Concrete) International PhD Symposium Stuttgart (September 11-13, 2008), Dipl.-Ing. Bong-Gu Kang from the Institute of Construction Research received the first prize (Gold Paper) and the Ernst & Sohn Best Newcomer Award. He received the awards for his work on textile-reinforced concrete, which he presented in a paper titled "Modeling of textile reinforced concrete at the micro-level" at the symposium. 170 abstracts were submitted in advance, and 100 papers were ultimately accepted for presentation.
This biennial event gives PhD students the opportunity to present the results of their scientific work to a large international audience and to establish further contacts.
