Use of Quality Improvement Funds

On April 30, 2011 the law for the improvement of quality in teaching and studies at North Rhine-Westphalian universities (Study Quality Act) came into force. The so-called tuition fee reimbursement funds must be used for the specific purpose of improving the quality of studies and teaching. The funds go to the universities in addition to their basic financing. It is ensured that the funds do not lead to an increase in intake capacity, but are used for additional staff, such as teachers and tutors.
