Mobility, Informatics, Surveying and Geotechnics
Teaching und research unit | Head | Overview |
---|---|---|
Urban and Transport Planning, ISB | Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kuhnimhof | The institute researches the effects and potentials of technical and organizational innovations for the city and transport of the future. |
Highway Engineering, ISAC | The Institute of Highway Engineering researches, develops, plans, and advises in all areas of civil engineering, planning, operation, and traffic engineering of roads as well as tunnel equipment and operation. | |
Modeling and Design of Functionalized Pavement Materials, ISAC | Juniorprof. Dr.-Ing. Pengfei Liu |
The research focuses of the junior professorship are on the simulation and design of functionalized pavement materials. Methodological approaches include multi-scale and multi-physical simulation of pavement materials, requirements-based and computer-aided design of functionalized materials, programming and application of numerical methods on pavement engineering, experimental characterization of material properties and their use for life cycle analysis. |
Railway Engineering and Transport Economics, VIA | Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Nils Nießen | The Chair of Railway Engineering and Transport Economics researches the digital and automated railway operation of the future. |
Airports and Air Traffic (DLR) | Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Nils Nießen | The Chair is concerned with sustainability in the steadily growing air traffic sector. Research into low-noise, efficient flight procedures and the integration of new mobility concepts are therefore central research focuses of the chair. |
Geomechanics and Underground Technology (GUT) | Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Raul Fuentes Gutierrez | Geotechnics deals with the soil as a foundation element, as a building material, for embedding underground structures, and as a useful space for energy generation and storage. |
Building informatics and Geoinformation Systems | Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg Blankenbach | The chair is concerned with precise georeferencing as well as digital 3D acquisition, modeling, and visualization of the built environment. |
