Association of Friends of Deutsches Wollforschungsinstitut Aachen e.V.

The DWI maintains networking, exchange, information, mutual inspiration, assistance at many levels with hundreds of colleagues, collaborative partners, alumni, and friends.

The research work at DWI – Leibniz Institute of Interactive Materials is supported by the Association of Friends of Deutsches Wollforschungsinstitut Aachen e.V. – a strong industry association with over 50 members. More than 500 scientists have completed their doctoral disserations at the DWI since the institute was founded. Our alumni work worldwide is science and business. We work closely together with experts from research and and industry, nationally and internationally, with small and mid-sized business, and renowned companies in our research projects.

The numerous connections to members and project partners and the informal, personal contact with our alumni form a strong network that helps us to remain current and on top of the times, apply our research, and use synergies. Contact us if you would like to be part of this network and want

  • to become a member of the association
  • to subscribe to our newsletter
  • to receive announcements about our events
  • to re-establish contact to "your" institute as an alumni of the DWI

RIA – the Regionalgruppe Informatik Aachen of the German Informatics Society

The German Informatics Society is the German professional representation for computer scientists, whether in teaching and research, industry, or administration. It is the gate to the professional and science world and is networked locally and internationally. It offers computer scientists consistent contact and exchange with science. It links science to practitioners in industry and administration and is the political voice for their interests.

The Regionalgruppe Informatik Aachen RIA of the German Informatics Society currently has 480 members. These are members of the GI in the Aachen region. They work together to exchange information, discuss interesting points, and jointly represent the interest of informatics and IT in the region. RIA works closely together with REGINA e.V., the Regionaler Industrieclub Informatik Aachen of RWTH and Aachen University of Applied Sciences. RIA is made up of corporate members (companies, institutions); employees from businesses, research institutes, RWTH, and FH; RWTH and FH professors; students from both institutions, and emeritus professors and pensioners.
