General Information about Studies at RWTH Aachen

The Central International Office at RWTH Aachen provides you with important information about formal requirements forRWTH's exchange or mobility programs, application procedures, as well as advice on planning and organizing your stay at RWTH Aachen as a visiting student.

Student Mentoring Services for International Students

International students can find mentoring in and join a number of student organizations. The Intercultural Center of Aachen Students or INCAS and the European student forum AEGEE offer mentoring services for international students, who have recently arrived. Both groups organize regular meet ups, parties, excursions, and provide help with forms and visits to authorities.

Registration for Exams

The exam registration for exchange students cane to be done by using the online incoming portal. Within your first days in Aachen you will get further information on the registration process.

BeBuddy Program

If you want to quickly establish contact with others in Aachen and meet other students in your faculty, then participate in BeBuddy! All new RWTH Aachen international students have the possiblity of being mentored by an experienced buddy. Buddies are volunteer RWTH students, who know their way around the faculty particularly well. They provide advice for practical questions about student life, managing studies, and show you where to find the best beer and coffee in Aachen.

German Courses at the RWTH Aachen Language Center

The RWTH Aachen Language Center offers German courses for international students and researchers. There are special Euro courses for ERASMUS students. In courses during the academic semester you can acquire basic knowledge of the German language or expand and advance your skills.

RWTH Email Address and WiFi

The RWTH Aachen IT Center is your contact for your RWTH email address and for access to RWTH wifi. The IT Center Service Desk, where you can get advising in person, is located in the ground floor of the SuperC on Templergraben 57, 52062 Aachen.

Libraries and Study Rooms

Libraries

The Central University Library's address is Templergraben 61, 52062 Aachen. You can pick up books here that you have ordered, order new boks, or use study room and computer work spaces. Your student ID, the RWTH BlueCard, is also your library card. Library 2 is right next to the Central Library, Templergraben 59. This library offers more literature, work spaces, and study rooms.

The University Library's Textbook Collection is located at Wüllnerstraße 3, 52062 Aachen. Here you can find fundamental academic literature to borrow. Books from the textbook collection do not have to be ordered beforehand. You can take them from the shelves yourself.

You can find the Construction Library in the Civil Engineering Sammelbau. Here you can take out technical literature and buy old exams. You can also view the notes from old oral exams.

Study Rooms

Are you looking for somewhere to study or work? RWTH has many study rooms for various needs.

You can use the computers in the Faculty of Civil Engineering computer lab for academic purposes. The computer lab is located in Room 714 in the Civil Engineering Sammelbau.
